when attempting to install Access 97 run-time application on a VISTA machine,
get the error message " registration database failed"

Any ideas on what to do?

Did you run the installation as an Admin?

I don't know, an "IT" person was doing the install on my customer's computer.
I will find out.

Thanks.

Gary:

As Doug has mentioned you need to install by right-clicking on the setup
file and selecting RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

Also, in addition, for Access to work properly on VISTA, you need to locate
the MSACCESS.exe file on your machine and right-click on it, select
PROPERTIES, and on the Compatibility tab make sure the RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
button is checked as well.
