Everytime I start Access 2002, the Windows Installer starts-up and says that
it is gathering information before Access actually opens up. I suspect that
it has some confusion because I did have the Access 2002 Runtime also
installed, but I uninstalled the Access 2002 Runtime and it still starts up
the Windows Installer each time I open Access. I have tried uninstalling and
then reinstalling Access, but that did not fix the situation.

Has anyone else had this annoying situation? If so, how did you fix it?

Thanks,
BobV

I discovered the solution by searching the web. Here is the solution:
1.  Locate MSAccess.exe and rename it OLDMSAccess.exe
2.  Start Access and when prompted for the Office CD, insert it in your CD
drive and let Access be reinstalled.
3.  Open Access again and it should open without the Windows Installer
opening first.

Hope this helps others who may run into this annoyance.
