Chinese comment window!!!

Re-installed office 2000, then Access 2003.  Now running a database form
Chinese comments appear!!.  I don't want them!

How do I get rid of them?

Is it just one field, possibly a Memo field? If so there's a good chance that
corruption is the problem.
