I wish to send an e-mail to a web site, but I have to have my account
configured for sending e-mails.  I must supply my providers server info. It
asks me if I store in POP3 or IMAP.  How the hek should I know! Or my out
going e-mail server SMTP name.  What the hek is a SMTP?  I just got this new
computer with Microsoft Vista and I am overwelmed. If they what me to know
all of this why don't they creat a chip to install in my brain that has all
this tech info they require but do not explain what it is or how to get it.

this newsgroup answers questions about setup and configuration of MS Access
relational database software. suggest you re-post your question to a more
appropriate ng - if you're using Outlook, perhaps an Outlook newsgroup.

Meggen,

1) Good Idea to post in Outlook.

2) You solution lies in your email provider...
go to your email provider's web site.  example (brenda.barns@gmail.com)
gmail has a tutorial on how to set up pop email accounts through Outlook,
Comcast, Earthlink, and other popular sites do the same.  Go to the FAQ
section or help section and you should be able to find a tutorial on how to
set up your email.

Good luck!
