Something went wrong with the hard drive on one computer on a small network I
help with. None of the data files were damaged at all and I was able to just
connect the damaged hard drive to another hard drive on the network and move
everything. But I can't open my database with Access. I get a message that
says its read only. I'm sure its a simple fix. Can someone help me?

try this

open Windows Explorer and navigate to the file. right click on the file and
select Properties from the shortcut menu. look at Attributes at the bottom
of the properties box, and remove the checkmark from the box next to
Read-only.
