Everytime I load access, I get the "Installing Microsoft Access Feature" pop-up.  This has only started occuring since ! upgraded from Win2K to Win XP.  Currently Running Office XP

In additional, my switchboard form refuses to open.  Reported error is

"The expression On Open you entered as the event property setting produced the following error:  Error in loading DLL.

Tried installing/re-installing updating etc.  Only reference I can find talks about it being an IE6/Outlook express error affecting MS(general) files

I have downloaded the new MDAC 2.8 and now my access 2002 dbase functions perfectly when run in Win2K

Still have no luck with XP though.  I would really like to run XP (bright lights and flashy colours and everything) but still have the same problem with the addition of all my macro driven routines now function incorrectly and keep asking me for the referred field even though I have already specified it in the attached pop-up form.  The pop-up forms and macros function normally when I run in Win2K.

Already tried Programme compatability wizard in XP and got the proverbial V sign

Any suggestions

Hi Perry,

Have you tried re-registering the files Dao360.dll file and the Msado15.dll
file by using the Regsvr32.exe program (see the same article -- method 1).

Hi Eric

Tried both methods.  Still unsuccessful.  Cannot find the DAO360.dll file though

I have noticed another problem with it as well.  When I try to run one of the pre-made databases using the wizard, it freezes and no database is produced

Eric,

I too am having the same problem.  I have reviewed your
posts and tried everything you said.  I still get the
message when I open Access.  In addition, When I try to
compile the code, I get an error message that says "Error
loading DLL".

Please advise...

Found the DAO360.dll file

Re-registered it - zero impact

I am sure the solution is staring me in the face...... maybe I need to take a step back and look at this from the bottom up

Thanks for all your assistance
