You need to either
1) add the same user (using the exact same name and PID) to both mdw files and grant this user permission to open the database object and read data on the tables.
or since it sounds like a one-off thing,
2) temporarily grant the Users Group permission to open the database object and read data permissions on the table(s).
Note that when you import objects, their permissions won't travel with them, so be sure to set the permissions after imported.

Hi Joan,
Thank you for your reply. I created both databases I'm trying to copy
to/from. Our IT dept set up the db security, so even though I've worked with
db's for some time (and am always learning something new thanks to everyone's
valuable input here), I've never until this past year had a reason for db
security. That being said, all this is slightly confusing. As stated, I am
in the full permission, user and admin group. When I go to
Tools>Security>Permissions and click a specific query to copy with my name
highlighted, all boxes are checked. I'm still not understanding why it won't
let me copy or import my front-end items from one db to another when I'm
logged in as user to both or what exactly I need to do to make it happen.
Hoping you will explain further.
Thanks again for your help.
