Blocking Access tables from other Office apps

I need to know if there's a way to block other MS Office applications (Word,
Excel, etc) from being able to extract data from Access tables. Does anyone
out there know of a way to do that? Failing that, what about encryption
options?

You can keep out casual users by applying User Level Security, but it
will not keep out a determined hacker. If your goal is bullet-proof
security, then Access may not be sufficient.

Access user security is not to be taken lightly, so read very
carefully and thoroughly, practice on a COPY of your database, and
don't skip any steps in the process.
