I thought I had it figured out, but I took all my options away and now my
database opens to the form for input, and I can't figure out how to get back
to my list of tables, queries, etc. and to have access to my toolbars.  HELP!

Try holding down the Shift key when you open the database.

If you want to see the database window (i.e. the list of tables, forms, etc) the click Tools - Startup and check the
"Display Database Window" setting.
