I have several mdb files that had an associated mdw file.  I cannot locate
the mdw files.  Is there any way to open these databases?

When you created your MDW files in the first place, you should have
written down all the necessary information to recreate the files from
scratch. If you did not write down that information, then you can
purchase a number of password crackers from various sites on the
Internet. Google for "Access password cracker" or some such...

Here are a number of links about security:

The problem is that all information re users, etc., including mdw files are
missing.  Password cracker only helps if I have the mdw file.  I ran some
against the mdb files but they come back as having no passwords.

That makes sense, but....

This product (http://www.thegrideon.com/accesspass.html) seems to
return the account names plus the ID's that were used to create the
accounts (I've only run the un-registered version that is somewhat
crippled). It *looks* like it will allow the OP to create the original
users in a new MDW. But it also looks like he must buy the full
version to know for sure.
