Hello,

I have created a database and set up the security on it.
When I move it on LAN and open it from another user's
computer. All security is gone. I assume I need to make
this user to join the workgroup. But I don't know how to
do it. Could someone help me on this?

Also I am wondering if the user join the workgroup, will
all access files on his machine have same security which
means he has to login when he open other databases?

Thanks so much!

Jane

"All security is gone"  do you mean they have full access?

If so, then you did not follow the proper steps to secure your file.  If the
steps were followed, then you should not be able to open the fiel without
the required workgroup.

Yes, joining the workgroup will work, but what is to stop someone from
rejoining thier default workgroup and gaining full access to the file?
YIKES!

You need to reread the security FAQs and follow ALLLLLL the instructions.
Including the part that talks about removing the user 'admin' from the
admins group.

Thanks so much for your help.

I have followed the instructions in Security FAQ. The
problem is that the new user that I created and assigned
to Admins group doesn't have Admin rights, which means
that it can't assign permission to any users or groups.

When I run Security Wizard, there is no any instruction. I
am affraid I did something wrong there (I selected all
object in db. Is there any web site with such information.

Thanks again.

Jane
