Reports in Access 2003

Hi

I created a database in Access 2000, however after a recent upgrade to MS
Office 2003 and Access 2003 the reports no longer work. I get a message
"Open Report Action Canelled" when I click on the button to open a report,
also I cannot run reports using the menu in the database window or create
new reports using design view. I created a new database with a table in
Access 2003 and I cannot create reports in that either. All other objects
are working as normal, the databases are using Access 2000 file format.

Has anyone any advise on how I can get these working again?

Thanks

Nick Bradbury

Have you installed a default printer?

Thanks for your reply, I'll look on Monday [work PC].

But how does not having a default printer installed prevent the creating of
reports or being able to view existing ones? It doesn't make any sense.

Cheers

Nick

Access uses the printer specifications to set up the report layout.  No
default printer = no printer specification.

No printer specification = cannot create layout specifications.
No layout specifications = AAUUGH!!!!

Hi Guys

Printer was installed but set to "Letter" not "A4", changed setting
everything OK. Still find it odd that this situation exists in the first
place and that it isn't mentioned in Access help or troubleshooting, not
that I can find anyway.

Thanks for you help

Phew, that's a new one! And really daft as the Default setting in Regional
Settings when you install Windows is Letter. Bet this letter saves a whole
heap of equally puzzled users from trying all sorts of major horribles to
fix the same problem.
Thanks for taking the trouble to let everyone know.
