Judge the number of characters in design mode

Hi all,

How can I get the max number of characters wihich a control can display in
the design mode?

Clara,
  That depends on the field definition that the control is bound to.
  A Text field has a 255 character limit.
  A Memo field can store up to 64,000 characters.

  If you mean... given a bound text control that is 2" wide... how many characters will
it hold... that depends wholly on the font size, the font style, and the characters that
will be displayed (which you don't know in design mode).  If that field could hold 20 W's,
it might hold 35 I's.  No way to tell...
