I am using Access 2000.
We have a dB to keep track of our quotes.  One quote may have different line
items.  Each quote has a follow up date.  I want to run a report that is
based on follow up date (for each quote) that shows the Company information
(name, who we talk to, tele#) the date we quoted the customer and the
comments.  I have the report, the only problem I have is that under each
quote number it repeats all of the information I want for each line item.
Example if a quote has 5 line items, under the quote number all of the
information listed above is repeated 5 times.  If the Quote has 2 line items,
it repeats the information 2 times etc.  How do I get the report to only list
the information one time?

Open the report in design mode and open the properties sheet.  Now select
the control(s) you are having problems with.  On the "Format" tab of the
property sheet is a property named "Hide Duplicates" --- by default it'll be
set to "No" --- set it to "Yes" for those controls that you don't want
repeated from line to line.  You can be very creative with this and my
experience shows that if you get too creative the report can be fairly
difficult to read.  It would be nice if there were a third option --- to
print a double quote if the value is a duplicate.  Bob.

Use Sorting and Grouping (View menu) to specify a group on
the quote id field.  Select Yes for Group Header (and
Footer?).  Now move the text boxes for the Quote specific
data to the group header section.
