Large Access 2002 database - replication failure

Replication between the design master and the replica is
failing with an error message "Not enough space on
temporary disk".
Master database size is approx 950MB, and I presume a
large number of changes have been made to the replica.
We have 1.5GB of free space on C: (where the temporary
files go) and plenty of space on D: where the design
master resides.
At the suggestion of the developer, MaxLocksPerFile has
been increased to 500000, but replication still fails.
Any ideas anyone?

You've probably already done this, but have you gone to
utilities and done the repair database and the compact
database?  My DB was 150mb before I did this and it went
down to 21mb.
