Error 3163 while replicating

I have five Access 2000 databases that I've replicated
using a VB program for some time without any problem.
Now, three of the databases will not replicate regardless
if I use the VB program or try doing it manually. The
error is: "The field is too small to accept the amount of
data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less
data. (Error 3163)". I cannot see that the data has
changed in terns of length in the masters. I have
compacted and repaired the databases, nothing helps.
Is this a known problem? Any solution?

This has happened to me several times.  I don't know what causes it or what
can be done to fix it.  I have had to replace the data files on each
workstation that has this problem.  I also make sure that if their data file
has any changes, I copy them into the new file.

It seems that the data with this error is able to send data to the replica
but not able to receive.

Good luck!

I have tried to replicate existing data files as well as
completely removing the data files before replicating -
the result is the same: Error 3163. One strange thing I
have observed: if I delete the replica file on the target
and then copy the master files to the workstation (using
a share on the workstation and simple drag-and-drop), a
replica _is_ formed on the workstation and without any
errors!? Any takers?

You should be able to use this new replica.
Just make sure that if any data is in the bad .mdb file that you copy it
over.
it has happend about 10 times in the last 2 years.

We have about 25 users replicating.
