1) First uninstall SP4
2) Backup the files msjet40.dll,msjetoledb40.dll,msjint40.dll,msjter40.dll,msjtes40.dll
found usually in the c:\winnt\system32 directory and dao360.dll
usually found in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\"
to a different location like c:\temp\jet40.
3) reinstall SP4 and then copy these file back to the appropriate
location.
It should work now. Also my colleague observed that using access 2002
from Office XP does not have the problem i.e. if you install SP4 and
then install XP it does not break replication with access 2002.

Thanks!

I'll tell you how it works out.

This will not work. Win2K restores the SP-7 versions of the files.

At this point, it seems that with Access2000 on Win2K - moving to the Win2K
SP-4 causes internet replication to stop functioning properly. No issues
with SP-3 (Jet 4.0 SP-6).

Thanks for the help.

Have you tried it yet. It did work for me. I do know that SP4 causes
problems. That is why when I have unistalled sp4 and am in sp3 I am
backing up the files to be replaced after installing SP4.

Sure - that's why I responded......

Essentially Win2K "accepts" the overwrite - but then just goes back to the
original on its own. You can verify this by check the version number and the
date.

I think what is unclear is if the replication problem is with SP-4 or Jet
SP-7 - since SP-7 is not available separately for Win2K.

We had a laptop at Win2K SP-3 and no issues. Installed SP-4 - broke
replication on part of the replicas we had. Some work - others do not.

This is even with the Jet Replication Update applied.

I am unwilling to put our the NT box to Jet SP-7, as we need to replicate
data.

Hi guys, I have been watching this thread with interest...

I bought ODE recently, and it comes with the Jet SP3 as
far as I can work out (verson..4.00.2927.etc)

I can only get Jet SP7 on the net. Would it be possible
for someone to email me the files in a different SP which
you know works for Internet Replication? SP6 perhaps?

I've got Win XP and Access 2000. I don't know the
licensing issues involved here - I'm sure someone will
let me know!!

You can get the Win2K version here...

Clarification - it breaks internet replication - everything else is A-OK.
It cannot resolve the HTTP address when fully patched. (checked on multiple
installations - all the same).

Bigpost is of no value here - as Access simply never even attempts to access
the internet.

Even created a new replica and design master from an unreplicated DB at the
remote site to set the IP address - placed new replicas on a workstation and
got the same result when attempting an internet synch. Removed ALL data
files - empty replica set with no tables or queries - still has the link to
the IP address for replication - but still fails.
