I have a client that wants to use replication for a couple of Access 97
applications. We were hoping to use Replication Manager but it is my
understanding that it has to be installed on the server. They don't have
access to the server, they have a shared directory that they rights too but
no direct access to the server.

My question is, can replication be managed from a workstation ? They are
running an NT network.

No, ReplMan is a UI that wraps the Jet Synchronizer, which must run as a
process on the server.

Yes.

But you would not manage the replicas in the shared directory with the
synchronizer on the workstation.

Schedule sychs between the workstation and server using Replication Manager
on the the workstation.

Server as workstation (and vice versa) ?

Interesting.... though much more complicated to manage....
