Using Replication Manager 4.0 to synchronize to a Windows
2000 Small Business server SP4 running IIS.
Attempt to Synch via Replication Manager 4.0 on a Windows
XP laptop.
Manages to send message packets to the ftp share on
server OK.
Status message Saves, Send, then when attempting to
receive, gives message:
"Internet Synchronizer exited unexpectedly on the server".
Message files remain on the ftp site on server.
Help please.

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem.
I'm using Windows 2003 Advanced Server, which runs IIS6 and Office XP
Developer.
I used the article "Internet Synchronization with the Microsoft Jet Database
Engine: A Technical Overview" to set up the replication.
It's somehow strange, because when I synchronize over the network (i.e.
\\myserver\DropBox\replicate.mdb) it works perfectly.
But when I try to synchronize over http (i.e. http://62.103.2.1) I connects
and tries to transfer the data for a long time. Then suddenly i get the
message "Internet synchronizer exited unexpectedly on server". The
script-folder and the DropBox-folder both have full access for the user
"everyone" (even script-executing). I enabled the intelligent background
transfer service and allowed unknown CGI scripts. Nothing helped. I still get
the message. Can anybody help me concerning this?
Thanks and with kind regards

Solved the same problem, after upgrading to IIS6.
MS article ID 871061 may help, but I set
IIS6 web server extentions - CGI Scripts to allow the service
MSTRAI40.exe and also allowed WEBDAV.
