Hello all,

A year ago I moved away from internet synch when I was hit by the
instantaneous "Invalid HTTP
address" error when trying to synch on machine with Jet4-SP8 using XP and
Office2000.

We then went to Direct Synch which ran fines, although I always expected the
worst since this
method is not too safe over WAN connection. Well now we have an office for
which the so called
high-speed connection seems not too reliable as they crash and corrupt the
server file every now
and then

I now would now like to revisit the Internet Synch but wonder what ever
happened to that mysterious
bug that was affecting lot of people but yet not enough to make it a crisis.
Was it recognize, identified
and fixed? Or was it just forgotten about?

Anybody know if there has been a fix for that one?

Thx

Stef

A while back I identified having problems with partial synchronization, and
after pinpointing the problem to an MS hotfix: (837001  MS04-014: Vulnerability
in the Microsoft Jet Database Engine could permit code execution), MS has come
through and created another hotfix which corrected our problems.  From the looks
of it, it covers several areas including some Internet synchronization problems.

The MS site is  http://support.microsoft.com/?id=870753

hi!

I got the hotfix last week direct from MS Germany and now everything
works fine. I didn't setup IIS and RepMan again, I just used a replica
which caused the 'Invalid HTTP' error and after hoffixing a WinXP client
and a Win2000 client on both machines the internetsync work as supposed.
So I think the problem is just the sync and not the replica itself.

I received the Hotfix directly from MS.  Follow the links and/or call the number
provided and reference  Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 870753.  They do not
charge for support related to the hotfixes etc.

I did get the patch... wow... private emails...password...only valid for 7
days...
they really don't want the patch to be too available!!!!

Now I have it and seems to work with a tiny database I created for testing
Need to try with the real application now

Thx for the help
