Hallo michka,

I think you are the specialist of replication and only you can help me.
(I read all your postings at trigeminal.com --> The postings a very funny
and informative!, also I read in the Microsoft KB)

Thank you for the first answer from 17.8.2003 in the replication.newsgroup,
but I?m sorry, could you explain this more exactly? How can I remove the
direct path link ?
(My configuration: --> I allow the local PC to access the dropbox folder and
the folder including the remote-replicate on the remote PC, and I allow the
remote PC to access the dropbox folder and the folder including the the
local-replicate on the local PC --> Is this the problem ??)

Is there existing additionally  to the "MS 2000 Replication FAQ" a document
(or book) where the start-up of indirect synchronisation is explained step
by step?

Thanks so much, Chris

If the remote machine has direct access to the replica on the local machine,
then THAT is the problem, as this is what is allowing direct syncs to
happen. You must not allow them access to the replica file this way.

I do not know of many other docs (and certainly no dedicated books) beyond
the white papers that are present n the MOD CD (so you have them if you have
Replication Manager).
