I am using Access 2002 Packaged in Microsoft Office XP
Professional with Frontpage and want to use briefcase to
sync between a server and my computer. When I try to make
a sync copy in the briefcase I get the error "Briefcase
can't start a Microsoft Jet database session."
I have tried to repair office, removed and reinstalled
office, have applied all updates to Jet, Office, and XP
Pro, installed Microsoft Data Access Components, and
added Microsoft Office - Microsoft Access for Windows -
Database Replication.
Any ideas on what I can do or check next?

Hi Roger -

This is Steven from Microsoft Access Technical Support replying to your
newsgroup post.

Are you dragging a non-replicated (i.e., a database that is not a replica
or Design Master) into the Briefcase while joined to a workgroup using UNC?

If this is true, try mapping a drive to the Shared folder and then re-join
to the workgroup file using the mapped drive, instead of UNC.

Please let me know if this solves your problem or if you would like further
assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Steven Parsons [MSFT]
