Hello,

I would like help with producing a SQL statement in Access that will take a
number and divide it by another and multiple it by 100 to get a percent
amount. I would like to do this in a query. For instance, I have created a
query that give me the TOP 10 Institutions where the most people attend.
Therefore, I know how many people are attending each Institution. Now, I want
to know what percentage of that number makes up the total count for all
students in all institutions.

Can you please help me with this forumla? Thank you.

In addition, I would like to know how do you make it round up when it is at
.5 percent and higher. Ex. 26.3 = 26 but 26.5 is 27.

Thanks,
TL

Now, I am working on the decimal place matter. I try to figure it out too.
But if you read  and have a simply solution then please let me know too.

Thanks,

Okay, I have solve my own problem by using the SQL statement below:

SELECT qryTotalCountOfALLStudents.SumOfCountOfDegree_Program,
qryTop10ByInstitutions.[CountOfInstitution_ Name],
Format( qryTop10ByInstitutions.[CountOfInstitution_
Name]/qryTotalCountOfALLStudents.[SumOfCountOfDegree_Program])* 100
AS Percnt
FROM qryTotalCountOfALLStudents, qryTop10ByInstitutions;

I figured it out. I highlighted in Design View the particular column that
displays the Percnt then I right clicked and went into Properties and set the
"Decimal Place "to zero (0) and set the Format to "Fixed." I guess if you
think through the process then more than likely you will come up with an
answer too.

Thanks for allowing me to express my problem and solution.
