Updating Linked Table Data

Is it possible to update / append data from a local table TO a Linked Table?

For some reason when I create a new Query - the linked table does not appear
in the list of available objects in the Design View of my Query.

Sure. I do it all the time.

Odd. Do you in fact have it linked using File... Get External Data... Link?
Does it show up in the Tables window?

Yes. that is exactly how I linked the table in.

When I go to Query/Design View to start a query from scratch - the linked
tables do not show up in the list of available tables.

Any ideas?

John,

Thanks-I figured it out. Those files are linked to a shared environment. If
I am not connected to the shared environment - then the files show up as a
table in Access but they are not accessable to build queries against. Makes
a lot of sense - I guess I was just being blond. :)
