in a query having the between dates and also a sum

I am trying to create a query where the user will require to enter the from
and to date and also the query to create a sum of the amount field.
When I apply the sum to the field required I get 0 amount in my total field
that I apply the sum to.
greating appriecate any help

We can't see how you've tried to do this.  Please post the SQL statement ...
