I have split a database (mydb and mydb_be) in a multi-user environment and am encountering the following error at various times/workstations

"The Database [mydb] needs to be repaired or isn't a database file.  You or another user may have unexpectedly quit Microsoft Access while a Microsoft Access database was open.  Do you want Microsoft Access to attempt to repair the database?

Occasionally, this error has resulted in locking the user out (I've set the forms to EDIT locking), but I've also had to run repair

More information

All workstations are Windows 2000 with updated OS Service Packs (SP4
All workstations are running Office XP (2002) with updated Office Service Packs (SP2
All workstations have the latest Jet 4.0 Service Pack (8

Not sure what other information I can provide ... but can anyone give me any informatoin that may point me in the right direction to eliminate this

Thank you in advance

Hi Gary,

Do all users have their own copy of mydb.mdb?
Check out this site for performance, corruption issues related to multi

Does each user have thief own copy of the FE?  This is the major cause
of the corruptions in the FE.

See the "Auto FE Updater downloads" page at my website to make the
process of giving each user their own copy of the FE MDB relatively
painless.
