Simple Access 2002 database with customers to call used by five users. I
have set Default record locking to "Edited Record" and check "open Databases
using record level locking".

I can still open two instances of the database and revise the same record
from both instances. How can I lock out a record that is being edited?

With Default Record Locking set to "Edited Record" and "open Databases
using record level locking" the record should be locked when editing.  Test
with another database file.  If the problem persists you may need to have
the latest version of the JET Database Engine installed.  See: How To:
Obtain the Latest Service Pack for the Microsoft Jet 4.0 Database Engine

I hope this helps!  If you have additional questions on this topic, please

to visit Windows Update at <http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/> to install
