Has anyone else noticed Access FE file losing connection to the BE file for
no appearant reason?  It seems to be happening fairly common in Access
(maybe once a day) as it's happened to me on numerous occassions, but yet,
other applications don't do that to me including our JDE connection via IBM
Personal Communication application (aka Client Access Express), which
requires a persistent connection.

Hi Ronald,
the only reason I know - network problems, either hardware or software,
Access is quite sensitive to it

That's why I stated something about JDE too as JDE is also quite sensitive
to it.  If we have any sort of a network issue, our connection to JDE is
instantly dropped and we have to relog back into JDE.  Even though I'm not
here 24 hours straight, I do have a program that requires JDE to be logged
in, up, and running, which is utilized every 10 to 15 minutes to update
production data from the production floor to JDE, and this connection isn't
being lost, so I would find it hard to believe that it's a network issue.

But it could be a very different type of connection.  Such as to a SQL
Server database engine or DB/2 or such.  Those would likely recover
better from intermittent failures than Access does.
