I am attempting to send a databse that I have built in Access 97 that
is part of a workgroup on our server.  The person I am sending this to
is not able to access the database because of errors involving joining
a workgroup. How can I save/send this database without the workgroup
requirement for this particular database?

Thanks

Take a *copy* of the mdb, open it with Admin priviledges and give
permissions to the "Users" group as appropriate.
