I have an Access MDE on each workstation with an MDB on the network that is
shared by all users. Everything has been working fine (updates periodically,
last update 12/2005) for years. On Friday, one users received this
message:"You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time. If
you proceed to make changes you may not be able to save them later" Now it
seems that she cannot get into the database while other users are in the
system without this message popping up. I have a system.mdw in the
workstation application folder, we tried uninstalling/installing the app.
The app runs from Access Runtime 2000 (via command line), but the user does
have access 2002 on their machine (they've had it since October). The users
doesn't get into Access 2002 although they have it. We've checked to make
sure that there are not any stray ldb files in either the user folder or the
network folder. Any thoughts?

Sounds like she has her options set to default to opening files exclusively.

Hello,
First I suggest that you check the permission of this sepecific user to
make sure she has the exact same NTFS/shared permission on folder hosting
the BE mdb file.
Also, please check if you encounter following known issue:
839782 You receive a "You do not have exclusive access to the database at
this time. If you proceed to make changes, you may not be able to save them
later." error message when you try to open database objects in Access
