Hi All,
Is there a general checklist to ascertain whether an office pc network is
'up to' having an Access split multi-user database running on it? Are there
any specific points about a Windows XP Pro network that need attention?
Regards,
Penny.

The only thing you have to check - is network hardware quality, because bad
hardware could cause corruptions.
That is why it is better to have a switch instead of hub.
Also keep in mind that Windows XP Pro has limited number of connections, if
you plan to put data file on it

Access could be sold as a network testor. If there's a problem, Access will
find it.
If you want to be very, very careful have your network people run a sniffer
on the network especially looking for bad packets as these could corrupt the
database.
Having said that, I've installed Access databases on dozens of networks and
only had problems with a Novell network that was readily fixed with a couple
of easy setting changes for the network.
