Hi everyone,
Please forgive my ignorance but I am trying to set up a LAN with
computers. I am using Micorsoft Access 97 and wondered if one databas
can be used by all 3 computer users at the same time?
Would this work ok or does the database need to be split - please tel
me that it doesn't need splitting as I am a self taught user and thi
is something I know absolutely nothing about!!
Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance

While one database could be used by all 3 users at the same time, it's a far
better idea to split the database.
Splitting is very easy. Shouldn't take you more than 5 or 10 minutes. Take a
look at what Tony Toews has at

Things will work if you don't split, but relbliary issues can crop up......
I talk about not only how you split, but also expalin "why" you split. I
actualy like expaling the "why" part better then just telling you!!
And, once you get the hang of this, you will find that developument is also
eaiser....
