I had a simple database and it is giving a read only database error.  It's in
one PC with shortcut to this in the other PC's.  How can I fix that?

Does the user have full access to the file in which the database lives?

Is the "read-only" flag checked if you right-click the file and select
"prroperties" from the menu?

The read only is not check and don't know exactly what you mean with full
access to the file in which the database lives...

Do they have WINDOWS permissions to the folder?  Can they add a new file to
thaat folder?  Change an existing file in that folder?  And can they delete
data from that folder.

In order to use an Access database (fully) the user needs full Windows
permissions to the folder.

Thanks for your help and patience Rick B:

Maybe this is not the forum to ask this but let me try.  How can I know if a
user has fully permissions to a specific folder?  How can I give those
permissions?  Sorry for my lack of knowledge in those items, I'm an
accountant.

Thanks

Jeannette

I would think you would right-click on that folder and click "Properties".
There should be a "security" tab that will let you look at each user/group
that can access the folder.
