I have a pc setup as a Termial Services box (win2003). Each user has the
ability to run a completely distinct mde file. The mdb backend data file
is on the same computer. What puzzles me is that the 2nd mde that is
started has seriously degraded performance, at least with some queries.
One form that normally opens with data in hand more or less instantly
takes a minute to open (only on the 2nd instance of the mde). I've
opened taskmanager, and what I see is MSAccess.exe briefly using 2% of
cpu every couple of seconds, then none, then 2% again, then none, for
the entire minute. If I close the first-opened mde, the 2nd instance
which has been battling to see the light of day suddenly springs to
life.

The queries behing the form being opened are simple, and there are only
a couple thousand records in the tables. What is this resource
contention all about? I'd expected nothing like this with Access on TS.
