Linked tables on wireless network

I have 3 users that each have their own front end, linked to a single
backend mdb file of tables on a server.  One user has a standard LAN
connection via a wire.  Two have a wireless connection.  Thw wireless users
cannot use the application or open the linked tables.  They get "disk or
network error", which usually means a bad or broken network connection.
They cannot even see the tables in the linked table manager.  However, they
have no problem opening files on the server via Windows explorer.  Their
network connection works, but not with Access.  This is Access 2002.  I
suspect this has to do with timeouts and other such settings.

Any opinions?

Thanks for your help

Software such as Word or Excel work in bursts.  You open a file, do
some work for several hours and then save the file.    Access however
is much more continuous and is the proverbial "canary in a coal mine"
when it comes to flaky networks.

Wireless networks in general are not recommended for the exact
problems you are encountering.  That said the interference might be
caused by nearby WAPs on the same channel or the signal strength being
marginal.   Net Stumbler may be of some assistance here.

But in general our advice for wireless connections is to put a wire in
place.
