Hi,

I have a Data Access Project  (version 2000) saved as an ade file.

How do I make it so that when a second user opens this file on the file server
they don't receive the warning message:

"the database "user" will be opened read-only because of the following
occured:
the file is locked for edtiing by another user,.....

Once the user presses okay, everything is fine and the forms work great and
perform updates but its a deceiving message to any one using it for the first
time.

thanks

Chris

What was that answer? Perhaps someone else can benefit from it, too.

Having the warning message can not be stopped from happening.

The only way to not have the warning message not appear is to put each
adp or ade file on each user's computer. If the file does change you have to
have a mechanism in place to make sure each person has the latest version on
their computers.

there are lots of options for this I am currently investigating.
