Hello all,

My boss recently approached me about somehow sharing our split Access XP
database with our new office counterparts in Europe. What would be the best
way to go about doing this? My idea was to the office server in Europe
replicate and sync with our US db file via VPN but I dont believe that would
be too reliable. Any suggestions/etc would be greatly appreciated!

Evan,

This is one of those circumstances where you should either post teh database
to a website, or better still, upsize the backend to SQL Server, and
replicate properly.

I have used the replication system built in MS Access for our applications
where multi-site access is required but have experienced very serious
problems with Access 2000+ if any corruption at all occurs during the
synchornisation that has meant many hours of importing data manually and
re-starting the sync process.

I think it is much simpler to go down the route of setting up your system in
the US onto a MS Server 2003 with terminal services, this can be made
available via VPN or directly on the internet and your application won't
need any changes at all.
