My machine crashed while in our database.  Now there is a locked ldb file I
can't get rid of.  Without getting rid of the ldb file i can't move my
corrected database to the network.  I can't restore a database because the
network thinks its still in use by someone.

How do I delete or rename or whatever the ldb file and current corrupted
database.  I've tried deleting, changing the attributes but nothing lets me
get rid of the ldb and mdb files.

Joel,

Any error messages?
Do you have full rights to the folder?

It is likely that your network administrator has some tool to either delete
the file or, else, boot users out of it so that you can delete it.

Joel,

I have had this happen to me at work, and there is no magic way, even for
root, to delete the file.

However, the good news is that eventually the system will "let go" of the
file and allow you to delete it. I do not know how long that time is though.
I just wait till the next day. The time may be quicker if you can keep
others from accessing the mdb.
