I can't pack and repair my database. There are no logins to get onto
our database so that is not the problem. I don't get any messages
other than that an error has occured and access needs to close down.
After closing, the database opens again and tries to compact again
followed by another crash. Using Access 2002. Thanks in advance for
any advice.

Judy,
Not guaranteed to work, but there's a good chance it might salvage your
database, so you might want to give it a shot: make a new, blank .mdb and
try to import in it all objects from the damaged one; if it works you'll
have a new, clean copy of it.
Good luck,
Nikos

Sounds like corruption.
