Hi,
I have an access mde runtime FE on each client computer linked to a BE
server.
Each client logs on with the same User and Pwd with the MDW located on the
FE.
The BE are linked tables. One of the PC's (normally continuously logged in)
works fine
and all the other FE are painfully slow to load right up to the first record
entry.
Once loaded there is no problem.

If the FE is run with a local datafile there is no problem. Other programmes
run over the same
network without problems.

Any guidance on where to start looking?

Thanks in advance.

Max,

Check out the following link:

http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/performancefaq.htm

Some of Tony Toews's tips in there have been a life saver for me (and many
others...).

HTH,
Nikos

Max,

A similar experience for me was solved by updating all users' Jet version.

This fixed it perfectly.
Thanks very much.

Uncheck Tools - Options - General tab - Track autocorrect names

If checked acc2k/xp takes many seconds loading aditional information
about tables, querys, ...

I have a very complex form. This form takes about 2 minutes loading
using a remote BE if this options is checked. If unchecked,  the same form
with the same database takes 10 seconds to load in worst case.
