I am the administrator of a secured multiuser db, i have
connected via remote access to make changes, the remote
access has kicked me out leaving the database stuck in a
state of admin by myself, i cant get my connection
disconnected and the db won't let me in, is there any way
i can force it to kick me out so everyone can use it (and
i can continue making my changes)

Thanks
Emma

Yes, if you can delete the LDB file, I think you'll be in good shape...
CAUTION: do not delete the MDW file, or you'll create more problems than you
solve. Now, even if the LDB file is shown in use, I think it can still be
deleted. You may need to contact your network/systems administrator for
assistance, if that's the case.

If you can't, then all I can advise is to go to your most recent backup
copy. If there is no "most recent" backup copy, all I can advise is that
there be one for every important database, either in production or in
development.

Piggy-backing on your post, Larry, because I don't see earlier posts in this
thread ...

If Emma can not delete the ldb file via Windows, she may be able to do so
from a command prompt (DOS window).

Then you need to reboot the PC.

Obviously rebooting my PC to help delete a lock file that is there because a
networked user on a multiuser database using the db is not going to help.

Does anyone else have an advice. Thanks.

Brendan.

Thanks for the info but when attempting to delete using the command prompt,
i am told the file cannot be deleted because it is in use, any ideas?

Thanks
Emma
