access 2003 freezes on searching

I really need some help..Big time. I just installed access
2003 on networked computers. Using Server 2003 to hold the
mdb. I have 2 pc's logged onto the server. Seems the
application locks while doing a query. The shared data
files and access to the server is working fine. Even
during the access freeze up. We are guessing that the
database was written in 2000 and now using 2003 could be
the issue? If so, any help would be very much appreciated.

I should also add that the local machines are using xp
pro. We are using a linked front and and back end for this
application. Previously configuration used access 2002 and
no server. In this case, the mdb was shared on a 3rd pc
running windows 2000 and we did not have these problems.

Please help.
