Have looked high and low - can someone tell me how to output an embedded file
(Word, PDF etc) to a user's hard disk?  The files are contained in an
OLEObject field in the source table.  Would ideally not have to open the file
first just to save a copy on the user's local PC.  Have tried FileCopy,
docmd.outputto etc without any luck.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks Doug.  I am aware of Stephan's db (and am duly humbled by it!) but was
hoping for a couple lines of code that could dump a file out to disk.  Is
there nothing that is that straightforward?  James Welsby
