Assigning an emf file to an OLE object with Access VBA

I hate to admit to being so clueless, but how would I go about
programmatically assigning an object (in this case, an emf file) to an OLE
field? I can determine the path to each record's emf programmatically, but I
am stuck as to how to "insert" it into the OLE.

It really depends on what application you currently have registered to
handle this file type. If this app can function as an OLE Image Server
within Access then the solution to your issue is simple to resolve.

Three questions:

1) Within an Explorer window, when you double click on an EMF file, what
application opens up to display the image?

2) Why are using EMF files? If you could use say BMP files, then you could
assign MS Paint as the registered app to handle BMP's. Paint works very well
as OLE Image Server. Very few, if any, common Paint/Image applications
handle Metafiles correctly. While many such apps state they handle Metafiles
most of these apps simply wrap/embed the Image as a DIB within a Metafile.

3) Do you really need to store the Images as objects within an OLE field?
There are much simpler methods available to handle Images within Access.
