The Access 97 Linked Table Manager was a good thing. The replacement is
crap. The 97 version would automatically adjust all links, if you had all of
them selected and all were found at the new location first picked. The 2000+
version forces you to select acknowledge each one, which is horrible if you
have a bunch, and it is very typical to have a bunch in the same location for
a standard FE/BE design.

How can I get the Access 97 version and use it in Access 2003? It is
located in the WZTOOL80.mde file provided with Access 97. Unfortunately
since it is an mde file you cannot just export the linked table wizard out,
or run it in Access 2003. If you try to install this Add-In from Access 2003
it just says the version is only and you should obtain a newer one, which is
what I am trying to avoid in the first place!

Any help?

I can't really comment on the LinkTable manager as I rarely use it. I
have written a LinkTables form which allows you to relink a front end to
multiple backends. I developed it in A97, and am currently using in A2k3
databases without any problems. I will send you the mdb if you like.
Simple to use.

Hi GM,
Have you clicked the "Select All" button and checked the "Always prompt for
a new location" check box?
On my machine there is no difference between the A97 Linked table manager
and the later versions. It works like a charm for me in all versions. It
doesn't matter wether it's an mdb or mde.
I have A97, A2K, A3K3 and A2K7 installed on my laptop.
