MS Access Forum / Modules / DAO / VBA / January 2007Really need help! ADO not working
Operating System Windows XP Service pack 2 Using Access 2003 have the following references checked: ' Microsoft ADO Ext. 2.8 for DDL and Security ' Microsoft DAO Ext. 3.6 Object Library ' Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.8 Library Tried putting them in diffrent order, just can not make the error go away, never used to get it. Something must have changed. Please help me figure out why ado does not work anymore. Error on this line. Call a plumber." Perhaps the error message is too embarrassing to share it with us. ;-) Have you installed new software lately? Updated old software? Check the version with the MDAC Component Checker. Also ensure you have Jet 4.0 SP-8 installed. (It comes with Access 2003, but if other software was installed afterwards, this file could be overwritten.) You may know that visitors to these newsgroups are all volunteers, chipping in in their free time, offering help or advice when they feel they can. If nobody knows the answer to your problem, then I'm afraid that's all there is to it. As I am sure you did, I tried looking for answers on Google and all the responses that I saw referred to MDAC installation problems. I am sure that you are also looking in MSDN and the knowledge base... paid support lines from MS would seem to be the final solution. Best of luck. No offence taken: but it sometimes appear that people are disappointed here because they have unrealistic expectations of the support that they may get on the newsgroups.
