i asked this once in a different way, so i will try it this way:  I made a
split database and distributed a copy of the front end to all the users.
some of my users are getting an error message that someone has the database
open in exclusive user mode.  how can i fix this?

Hi, Dan.

> how can i fix this?

Depends upon the culprit.  The most common culprit (about 99% of the time)
is that at least one of the users doesn't have "Full Control" Windows
security permissions on the directory where the back end database file is
located.  Please see the following Web page for a link to the article,
"Multiuser Databases," for a list of the methods to avoid this:

In the future, please post your question to only a single news group. If you
don't get a satisfactory answer, you can try post to another news group or
provide additional information regarding your question.
