How to auto gen. the number from report

I have over a thousand record in table. i want to check from table and
extract the specify records to report. but i want to add one more field in
report for easier to read. The field could be automated gen. the number from
1 to end. Would you helpand teach me how to do it or code it. thank you veryu
much

1. Open your report in design view.

2. Add a text box with these properties:
       Control Source   =1
       Running Sum      Over Group
