Hello,
i have a command which send all the tables in my database through emails
after having saved each of them in .adtg format in a folder named backup.
Now i would like to compress the folder and attach the compressed file to
this email.
Someone told me that I have to do this using "shell" with this string "7z a
-tzip c:\database_studio\backup\backup.zip c:\database_studio\backup\*"

Does anyone know what does it means...I mean..how to launch that command
through the shell (whatever it is...)?

Thanks
Rocco

shell is a vba command: look in help for more information.
shell requires a program to run: unless you have that program
you won't be able to shell to it. I don't recognise the program
in the string you show.

An alternative to installing a zip program would be to use
the internal zip routines in windows (gzip.dll?), but that
would require more research on your part.
