I have an outline i want to collapse whenever cell AI is selected. Cell one
also needs to change between a '-' and '+' text depending on whether the
outline is collapsed or expanded.

cell A1? sounds like you're using MS Excel. this newsgroup is devoted to
questions regarding MS Access database software.

Microsoft's Help system has landed you in the wrong newsgroup: this
one is for the database program Microsoft Access.

Please use the dropdown box (the one that says "Access" by default)
to select a more appropriate newsgroup.
